Where/ When/ How Will D&G Cosmetics Land?!

I am starting to work up a bit of a sweat about this launch... it's been subtly hyped up in the press via a strong PR campaign and the advertising has been in the top magazines for the past month so when o when will Stefano and Domenico grace our consciousness with actual product?!

And, more importantly in my mind, where the hell will they put it?! Someones going to have to get the chop from Selfridges, surely, as I have heard they are launching exclusively in the Beauty Hall anytime now, but there is hardly any room as it is, and they are not going to want to go out towards the food hall or the Women's street?! I think they should go where Bobbi Brown are now, as that would put it directly behind where the Dolce and Gabbana bags are, but thats just my thoughts and I'm sure Bobbi wouldn't be too happy about being shifted away from their pretty cushty spot.

So what do I think of the packaging? Well, the pale gold is quite YSL and by calling the products The Blush and The Foundation, its a bit predictable - I was expecting my out-there packaging and innovative products types. The Blush retails at £27 according to Marie Claire, which is extremely expensive in my mind, but then I guess that is probably similar in price points to Chanel [I shall have to check] but my Chantecaille blusher cost me £23 and I thought that was a fair whack!!

Of course, Scarlett's ads are the highlight for the brand so far - she looks gorgeous as the Marilyn Monroe-esque campaign girl. Still, its very commercially-friendly; where has all the brains and innovativeness gone from the fashion industry?! I miss the brash sex of the D&G brand of the 90s. RIP.
